How should I test my patches?

Hi People,

I am currently throwing around the Win32 3.4 networking
code as well as doing general refactoring and cleanup.
Any thoughts as to the best way to test my changes? Up
until now with my patches, I've written handcoded,
patch-specific tests. I know little about what
Jacks and Mauve are or whether or not it's possible to
leverage these.

How should I best test my stuff? My handcoded tests?
The real testsuites? Both? Thanks for educating me.
