Thanks, installed.  Btw., when trying to regenerate Makefile.in, I noticed
that a vanilla automake 1.4 didn't recreate the old file, but produced
large differences.  I've chosen to manually edit Makefile.in in this case,
but what's the correct version of automake to use here?
