Isn't a partial fix better than no fix?  And if the most common
architecture is, in fact,
x86-64, wouldn't a partial fix that fixed most users make it even more useful?
The point is is that it is fairly clear now that there are solutions
available that
will guide the misdirected without a great deal of difficulty.  That
_is_ a good thing.
Do not let the perfect get in the way of the good.
