True. I'd still suggest asking and making sure, since I know for a fact that
students aren't allowed to work together on a single project from my
application to SoC. (mainly to prevent blame-shifting, or an incompetent person
screwing over another student.) Either way, the point is that the work is being
done, and that it might be a good idea to team up with whoever is doing it now,
after making sure it doesn't cause any issues. 

I suggest we leave this sub-thread be. <gets back to lurking>
