That's a fair point.  This release is for the optimizers like 3.4 was 
for the C++ parser: lots of improvements mean that there's probably 
going to be some slippage as well.  But, let's at least analyze the 
problems and see what we can do.  If the audit trails have cogent 
explanations of why they can't be fixed easily, that will help me to 
understand.
