Actually, I gave a quick look to the patches and they are good-looking. I
cannot really comment on the general approach because I do not have enough
expertise, but the part I could follow better (like, the C frontend parts)
seemed sensible to me.

Given that the parser will surely be in 4.1, I expect this to be a prerequisite
for the acceptance of your work. I suggest you start early: having a first
patch ready by the start of Stage 1 would be great. Remember also to update the
documentation (.texi), with the new options, hooks, nodes, rtl, whatever: this
is another important prerequisite.

Yes, I agree. There will be a call for 4.1 projects at the start of Stage 1
made by our release manager (Mark Mitchell). People wanting to submit big
projects for 4.1 will be asked to provide an integration plan. Don't miss that,
and sign up, so that you can get an official statement from the Steering
Committee about UPX I suggest you also to prepare a document giving a general
overview of how UPC is integrated into GCC.
