This patch is OK.

I'm a bit perplexed as to why we'd be calling operand_equal_p with only 
one operand, but handling that case won't hurt, I guess -- although the 
documentation for operand_equal_p should be updated to reflect that it 
does not require both operands.

Kenner, would you please check this in? 

Or, Phil, since you're motivated, do you want to check it in?
