Hopefully it will. On the other hand, 
  http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=12789
is a bug that might be related but doesn't have a switch statement (it has a 
tail resursion and an if-statement immediately before it, though, so I can 
see how that code could be transformed into something very similar as above 
pretty easily).
