There is a good chance for the latter, especially if your code is C++.
(You didn't provide sufficient details in your original mail.)

If you are using GCC 3.2, you really should update to 3.2.3, for in
general the latest release off a release branch is the most stable
one, or you might trie GCC 3.3 which has received a large number of
fixes and improvements compared to the 3.2 series.
