These patches solve a compile time performance regression that was
introduced when contexting for GC went it and was used.
OK, go ahead and check these in, mainline and branch.

Done. Thanks. If anyone trips over prefetch not working, let us know. I think this would be the first time it's been used in the compiler. I turned off that part of the patch for 3.3 to avoid any potential problems.
