vtable in read-only sections

Hi,
  Should vtables and typeinfo be emitted into a read-only section of an ELF?
I've searched for info on this, and even read over the gABI, but didn't see anything for or against this.

This was with GCC 3.2.2 on Linux and Solaris with binutils 2.13.2.1.
