limit number of errors/warnings for gcc before it gives up.

Hello ,

I found this question in archive without an answer.
Can anyone answer it now, or to say it's impossible?

This is a text of original question:

Subject: limit number of errors/warnings for gcc before it gives up.

      Hello,
Can you tell me how to control the number of errors and/or warnings that
gcc reports before it gives up?
I have read "GCC Command Options" and have not been able to find this
information. I expected to find something like, -Wall,-e5 for example, to
      limit the number to 5.
Thank you in advance, Jane Anderson
