Please explain why the architectures and OSes supported by i370 but
not s390 cannot be migrated to the s390 back end.

Also, since no one is is actively maintaining this port in the FSF
repository, and it has some serious issues there, I can only assume
that the people using this port are maintaining it in a private tree;
please explain why it affects that tree in any way if we drop the port
from the FSF repository.
