Trick question.  Mr Optimization isn't supposed to be running
with ld -r.  And this probably explains why we havn't seen the
problem on linux -- libtool doesn't think libgcj needs staging
here for some reason.

I don't know.  This is the second 2.12/2.11.late binutils bug
to show up in the last week or so.  This kind of thing is
positively awful to detect in configure.
