I thought about this. It won't hurt. :-)
If we want, I'm happy to make the script just do the last couple of
releases. Joseph's instructions involved adding more update_version
calls, and it just seems silly to have creating a new branch be a
ten-step process.
(While we're there, why do we want to put new branch tags and such in
cvs.html? Why not just say "for a release x.y, there are the following
tags..."?)
