It said the same before it had a 3.0.3 binary release, when it was
pointing to the GNU source page.  IIRC.

For Sun SPARC Solaris 2.5.1, there is a 3.0 link saying that it compiled
and installed.  Sure it did.  So did my 3.0.3.  It was after that that I
started having problems.  ;-}

This is one reason that my earlier note was so verbose about that.  It
compiled and installed and then created bogus shared libraries [when
using GNU binutils 2.11.2].  ;-)
