Hi, this is a comment on the gcc release manager's
interview referenced on LinuxToday. Red Hat/Cygnus has
be a model software company in terms of how much it
supports and contributes to GNU software which the
community uses everyday, from gcc, glibc to GNOME.
Red Hat has been a important force in the development
of gcc for many years, and its people like Havoc
Pennington have been instrumental in GNOME's
development. Red Hat should be the standard all other
software companies are judged against, in the gcc
project and other projects like, especially, GNOME.
Gcc 2.96 may be a "bad memory" but overall Red Hat
deserves to be treated in a very positive light.
A gcc user
