Everybody knows this, but neither 3.0 nor 3.1 has bootstrapped for
a while because the libstdc++ configuration is totally bogus.
My suggestion is that the libstdc++ people (whoever they are)
either fix it or disable it, so the rest of us can test what
we're interested in.
Feel free to ignore this flame-bait, of course ...
