Mark pesters people. Jeff pesters people. I pester people. The
problem is that developers seem to be too self-centered these days and
care about everyone else breaking their target but not about their
breaking any other target. I receive a lot of excuses and personal
attacks against me in response to my messages.
As Robert said, we cannot spend our entire time available for
maintaining our target to cleaning up after everyone else. This is why we
need to have a broad, representative number of systems among our release
criteria and limit check-ins during a release process to get everyone to
focus on the common release and not their little corner of the world.
Free software developers seem to require more and more personal
inconvenience to get anyone's attention.
