The original rs6000 machine description was for AIX, and having aix*.h files is
a newer invention. So you will often times find stuff in rs6000.h that should
be aix*.h, or even worse, stuff in rs6000.h that is then #undef'ed and
redefined in sysv.h, which is the principal other strain (Linux, eABI). David
and Geoff are attempting to retrofit this, but I suspect it was overlooked. I
don't remember the exact semantics of the AIX linker any more, but I think it
needed a list of things that the library exports and it would complain if a
reference to something not defined in the current object files or the export
files for the shared libraries.
