Just retried with a normal "make bootstrap", and still the same
problem. I found another difference between the two systems: the
SparcLinux machine has all the standard GNU tools, while the IRIX
system doesn't have makeinfo and doesn't try to build any info files at
all.


Hope this makes thing a little bit more clear,
