Unfair? On my systems, I set LD_LIBRARY_PATH for only two shared libraries,
the Gambit-C library and FFTW. Now every time I want to use a
different version of gcc to compile something, I have to muck around
with LD_LIBRARY_PATH. This is a vast change in behavior that I
still find annoying.
Perhaps I will eventually just configure things with --disabled-shared.
I'm trying to be a good citizen, however, and test gcc without
any special configure options, so this is not yet an option.
