Will do, for the script that updates the branch.
I believe we should put all such scripts into CVS, but where? contrib
in the gcc module seems a bit overloaded for this. A subdirectory there?
Or a different CVS module? Suggestions?

Joseph, it's not that anyone wants you not to see these scripts -- or help
improving them, rather this is one of the effects of a (mostly) volunteer
project. Requesting something, even if it's a good idea, doesn't just mean
that someone can afford the resources to handle that, unfortunately, even
if s/he agrees it's a good idea.
