Hundreds of us download newer versions of the gcc source code every day,
and compile it, or try to compile it. I don't recall that any of us had
to volunteer to do it -- we just set up cvs, grab the the code, and
have at it.
So what would you be doing by volunteering that the rest of us are doing
without volunteering?
