Hello,
I'm still trying to build gcc on my glibc 2.1.3 box, using gcc 2.95.2. I
do
configure --enable-shared --enable-threads --enable-languages=c++
make bootstrap
and the build chokes in the following way:
-----snip-----
/home/david/src/buildgcc/gcc/xgcc -B/home/david/src/buildgcc/gcc/
-B/usr/local/i586-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ -B/usr/local/i586-pc-linux-gnu/lib/
-isystem /usr/local/i586-pc-linux-gnu/include -DPACKAGE=\"zlib\"
-DVERSION=\"1.1.3\" -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DHAVE_GETPAGESIZE=1 -DHAVE_MEMCPY=1
-DHAVE_STRERROR=1 -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -I. -I../../../gcc-20001127/zlib -g
-O2 -c ../../../gcc-20001127/zlib/inftrees.c -fPIC -DPIC -o

I have read that in the cases of glibc 2.2 or 1.9.x, the gcc sources need
to be patched, but I'm still using glibc 2.1.3, on SuSE 6.4. My binutils
are upgraded, though. I'd be grateful if anyone had any ideas. Thanks.
