It generally means a bug in the compiler for not being able to handle
certain constructs.  However, sometimes, it also means there's a bug
in the code being compiled, that takes the compiler into an execution
path that's actually not supposed to ever happen.

If you could follow the bug reporting guidelines at gcc.gnu.org, we
may be able to help more.
