Well, it's put into "maintenance" mode - bugs are fixed and small
improvements might slip in ...

I wouldn't count on it if I were you. Implementing "Cray" pointers
(which is probably what you're referring to) would need interdependend
changes throughout the whole Fortran frontend - which means that someone
has to take a month or so just to analyse the needed overhaul; and then
it has to be written ...
We confine ourselves to simple, localised changes (such as the solution
to the COMMON block debug info).
