That's a bit cynical.

I hope that I have a reputation for being a bit more level-headed than
that -- despite my occasional tendency towards excessive pedantry.

If there is a show-stopper, then, by definition it will stop the show.
The difference between first tier and second tier is that on first
tier platforms we are promising *no* regressions and that *all* tests
on the criteria list will pass.  On second tier platforms, we're going
to ensure that this is mostly true, and that the exceptions are for
relatively unimportant cases.
