Re: cp/inc licensing


    BTW, I've just noticed that libgcc1.c contains, in addition to this
    paragraph, another one that says essentially the same:

     In addition to the permissions in the GNU General Public License, the
     Free Software Foundation gives you unlimited permission to link the
     compiled version of this file with other programs, and to distribute
     those programs without any restriction coming from the use of this
     file.  (The General Public License restrictions do apply in other
     respects; for example, they cover modification of the file, and
     distribution when not linked into another program.)

    Is this a remnant of an old wording of the license exception, or does
    it cover some other aspect I'm missing?

I don't remember what happened here; maybe at some point I wanted to
replace the other exception with this, and maybe vice versa.  Could
someone look at the old versions of these files to see what happened?
