We have not yet discussed where to put the thing yet.
We've only been covering the "is it even a good idea" part.

For systems in which gcc is the system compiler, I would want the
distribution maker to put it where the other system libraries go.
This would be critical for a system in which libc.so linked against
libgcc.so, as I would hope glibc eventually does.
As for what happens when a user installs the compiler into a
non-default location -- well, we don't have to make a decision
on that now.

That is probably counter productive if we've done the symbol
versioning correctly. For systems that don't support that
sort of thing it might be an option.
