In case you need further encouragement to help taking load off/
increasing bandwidth for gcc.gnu.org: Please do something about it!

Starting with moving the ftp service somewhere else may not be such a
bad idea, in case moving the entire machine is a
problem. Unfortunately, there is no automatic redirect built into ftp,
is there?
