As a follow-up to my previous post: You may want to use pre-compiled
binaries instead, e.g. from
http://sunsite.mff.cuni.cz/ftp/OS/Solaris/FreePkgs/sparc/2.5/gcc-2.95.1-sol25-sparc-local.gz
