I was going to ask this again myself anyday, but as it came up
now, let's start a refresh cycle.
 The original patch contained the "bugreport" FAQ entry and a
few patches to get this effect; see
<URL:http://www.cygnus.com/ml/egcs-patches/1998-Aug/0260.html>.

As you see the "faq.html#bugreport" item was installed after
minor tweaks, but there was nothing done for the main part; the
"ICE" message. The reason was it was considered bad to
introduce *more* multiple error/warning calls for the same
error/warning message. I tried to remedy that (really unrelated
problem IMHO) through follow-up-patches in
<URL:http://www.cygnus.com/ml/egcs-patches/1998-Sep/0293.html>
and
<URL:http://www.cygnus.com/ml/egcs-patches/1998-Sep/0301.html>
but I'm afraid they were lost or put on hold awaiting a
copyright submission from me. (Which by the way is in the
[snail] mail if is hasn't arrived at the FSF yet, honestly.)

I like this idea. I'm sure you'll get quite a few cheers if you
send in patches for improvements. I'd do it, but it was your
idea, and my ego needs an ACK for the other patches ;-) or
maybe I'm waiting for the copyright assignment ACK before doing
further work.

brgds, H-P
