If you don't know any reason why running on a different date would make it
hard for g77 to link properly while compiling in /U77, I don't either.  This
problem didn't occur with normal dates nor while compiling in other
directories, if it is a problem, and I suppose it would be more likely to be
the fault of the OS, again if it is a real problem.  Basically, the story is
that running testsuite with date set ahead didn't uncover any clear problems.
