Need help - program timeout failures in test cases

Hi,

I am trying to install egcs 1.0.3a on my RH5.0 linux system (i686-pc-linux-gnu). I did

cd (objdir)

(srcdir)/configure --prefix=/usr/local/egcs

make bootstrap

It appeared to compile and build OK, but when I did

make -k check

I got multiple 'program timed out' warning messages, with multiple case failures.

Am I missing something simple? Should I be setting any environment variables or library paths to make this work?

A copy of the output from the make -k check is attached, though it is not complete. I terminated the test cases because of the excessive wait times while cases were timing out.

I am still relatively new to linux and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
