-Wall stops compiling of egcs-1.0.3

Hello

I tried to compile the complete set egcs-1.0.3 (the 9.5 MB tar.gz file)
on our Sun (SunOS 5.5). The C-compiler version is

/dr_users/noell % cc -V
cc: SC3.0.1 13 Jul 1994

The problems was, that the make process hit an error when the option -W
or -Wall came up.
What can I do about it? Is there any workaround? I tried to omit this
option, but it wouldn't work either.

Regards
Wilfried Noell
