I am having trouble gettting Wei Dai's cryptogrpahic library to work
properly under Linux. Wei Dai says that it needs egcs 1.0 or greater to
work, and indeed it seems to complie ok, but on running its validation
checks, it seems to fail every time on the EC2N validation. I e-mailed Wei
Dai with this problem, and he said that I should use gcc's '-c' option
when compiling ec2n.cpp, integer.cpp, and nbtheory.cpp. This still causes
a dumped core immediately after the ec2n validation.
The error itself is a Segmentation Fault.
I e-mailed Wei Dai (weidai@eskimo.com) again, and he has no idea of what
the problem could be, and reccomended that I should post here.
I have since also found out that gcc 2.8.1 also produces *exactly* the
same error, so I suspect that the problem lies with some code or unset
options, but I am neither sure of this, nor sure of how to check it.
If anyone else has had this problem, and has fixed it, or has ideas about
it, then please e-mail me at firebird@the-junction.com. I will subscribe
to this list, but my online time is a little low at the moment, as I'm
doing my A-levels, the UK national final exams, which will determine
which university I get into.
Any help is gratefully appreciated
