egcs-1.0 results on i486-pc-linux-gnulibc1 (S.u.S.E. 4.4.1)

Please note, the good results were obtained with make check running
*after* make install. Running tests *before* make install is ok with gcc
and g77 tests, but causes lots of failures with g++ and the libraries.

Note: I did not configure anything --enable-shared nor do use NFS as the
FAQ points out. LD_LIBRARY_PATH has not been changed by me at any time.
The preinstall failures seem to be mainly caused by the testing procedure:

libio: 10 FAILs due to undefined references in streambuf.h and fstream.h,
probably getting the gcc-2 ones. 3 FAILS because of not
finding the new -lio, which is in a different dir than the -L's specify.
(these 3 remain after make install).

libstdc++: all fail because of iostream.h not found.

g++: 100 FAILs because of not finding iostream.h

Similar things happened with 2.90.14. I did run the testsuite of 2.90.14
as well with gcc-2.7.2.3.f.1 and egcs does much better. Feel free to
request gcc results, log's and more info, if needed.

Keep on your good work,

Michael Taeschner
