This will work, I think.  You need to write this as:

> +   %:remove-outfile(-lpthread) \
> +   %:remove-outfile(-lrpcsvc)" \
> +   CORE_LINK_SPEC

This uses ANSI string concat "string1" "string2" == "string1string2".  If you want a space between them, be sure to include it inside string2.

Yeah, it'd be nice, but I'm not going to require that you upgrade version compare to keep the SDK mechanism working for darwin8 and older.
