Yes, that works, thanks, though I still find it cryptic.  How is the
user supposed to know that the solution is to use -###?  That didn't
even occur to me.  And this also assumes that the user knows enough
about the gcc driver that they can read the ld command line and figure
out how that relates back to the original gcc command line.  But at
least I have a suggestion I can use next time I see this problem.
