I can give it a try once it is in. I don't know much about the test
system, but I assume that I what I would have to do is
*) split help.exp into help.exp and help-lib.exp
*) include help-lib.exp into plugin-lib.exp
*) use something like
check_for_help_options c {--help -fplugin=foo.so} {an option from foo.so} {} {}

right?

Since it would be nice to also test --version, I would probably also
rename check_for_help_options into just check_for_option and do
something like

check_for_option c {--version -fplugin=foo.so} {the version of foo} {} {}
