Yes, sorry I meant warning.

But then, what is the point? Some user source code would happen to use an attribute FOO which would be specific to the plugin. Then, wouldn't it be sensible to let the FOOBAR plugin register tthe FOO attribute (not necessarily the "user" attribute; that is a confusing name). If the FOOBAR plugin is not loaeded when compiling the user source code, I would expect GCC to issue a warning, not an error, and it is already happenning right now.

So what is the point exactly?

Maybe we might think that the initial plugin implementation should happen as quickly as possible in the trunk (now in stage 1), and that such features (like plugin specific attributes) could be added a little bit later if they are not very easy to implement.
