This is OK in stage1.

Thanks, I expect that they will be branching soon.

Any reason why we don't just extend the core
libgcc2 to include the extra modes?  Surely, m32c isn't the only
16-bit port that needs them.

Technically I can see no reason why not. I did not try to do it myself because I was worried about breaking generic code that would affect every port.
