- Subject: [patch] merge the gcj/classpath-098-merge-branch to trunk
This week I would like to merge the classpath-098-merge-branch into
trunk. The branch was updated over the past months to what it close
to the upcoming classpath-0.98 release. The branch was tested
- build without java-maintainer-mode enabled, on i486-, x86_64-,
powerpc-, sparc-linux with no regressions in the libjava testsuite.
- build with java-maintainer-mode enabled on i486-linux with no
regressions in the libjava testsuite.
- test results running the mauve test suite are posted in
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/java/2008-10/msg00005.html
and http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/java/2008-10/msg00015.html
There are some regressions which should be addressed until
the release.
The libjava build doesn't have new requirements, but picks up an
antlr.jar to build gjdoc, if it is found on the system. I'll document
these options in gcc/doc/install.texi in a followup patch.
The merge was ok'ed by Andrew Haley and Tom Tromey.
Thanks to Andrew and Andrew working on the merge.
If possible, please keep libjava informally frozen until the merge is
done.
