Interesting; yeah, a reasonably current copy of the 4.2 branch seems to work fine for me as well. So I guess this patch doesn't need to be backported to 4.2, after all. (Or, at least, not for problem I was seeing on trunk; Geoffrey may need to backport it for the version of MacOS he was working on.)
