The files in that directory do not parse and abide by dg-* directives. These testcases are designed to be simply compiled or run (depending on the directory they're in) without further ado.

Ok, do we want to make these test cases smarter? Otherwise I will just drop this and close the pr.

We need to make the testcase directories "smarter" to honor dg-cleanup directives, if nothing else. Personally, my opinion is that if using this patch makes that easier (and it looks like it very well might) then we should use it, and if not then don't use it.
