But, one doesn't have to do that if you don't need it to span across PCH write-read boundaries? If you do need it to span across this boundary, then this isn't a lameness, it is just a requirement, that, or you need to do a whole of work to write/write and relocate and update stuff. Generally that is frowned upon as it makes using PCH slower.
