I'm ambivalent about removing the option, so I'm prepared to go
with whatever you think is best.  Could you do the same for gas
though?  We should try to keep the two in sync.

Cna you remove the parenthetic bits and just keep the core names?
We don't try to describe the other cores, so it would be inconsistent
to add them for just these three.
