I'm withdrawing the patch for the moment. The reason is that it would
be very nice to clean up the library interface before freezing any new
API, and for the Fortran parts of the library the cleanest way to
accomplish this seems to be with the C binding, which should be ready
Real Soon Now.

So, add me to the list of people eagerly awaiting ISO_C_BINDING.
