Committed to trunk (revision 111280), with both yours and Joseph's
comments taken into account. (Hey, if I could handle JCL, I can
also handle texinfo!)

One question: Why the wait for 4.1? My understanding had been that
documentation patches are OK even during a freeze, but I may be
misunderstanding something here.
